The following illustrations depict ingenious sensor technology currently under research and development around the world. These and many more wireless health solutions hold the potential to transform the way health care is delivered in the coming years. The West Wireless Health Institute is exploring and validating the efficacy of such technology to make it widely available as soon as possible.

Embedded on a pill, wireless sensors are being developed to track and measure the body’s response to medications and greatly improve the management of chronic conditions like stroke, heart failure, infectious diseases and psychiatric disorders.

In the not too distant future, disposable smart patches or “band aids” will measure a broad range of physiological parameters in real time, including heart rate and rhythm, daily caloric intake and expenditure, and hours of high quality sleep in a night.
